Love Letter Challenge

Challenge #1 at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog was to use a love letter on your layout. I didn't have any pictures on hand that inspired me to write a love letter. I compromised a little on what constitutes a letter. Here is my layout.
This is one of the pictures that the photographer took when my daughter went for her Senior Portraits. They took over 40 pictures and couldn't understand why we said we didn't want more. Cap and gown, drape, casual and casual with the baby. Yup, we had plenty of choices. This was the best picture of her and the baby. We didn't know ahead of time that they would include him so he wasn't dressed to match her.
This journal tag/love letter was on the sheet of journal tags from Crate Paper that I included in my kit. I left it blank so that my daughter could fill in some of her feelings since the layout will go into her album.
This is a closer look at my embellishment cluster. I added the owl from my stash. It was from a clearance pack that I bought at Michaels for 14 cents. I figured an owl was appropriate for a school layout. The teal ribbon flower was cut from the trim, the random buttons are tied with twine, and the ribbon loops are stapled on with my tiny attacher. I like the way it looks with the mix of textures.

If you haven't joined us at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge yet I would encourage you to come over. We have multiple challenges every month, several tutorials about how to counterfeit popular items, and many inspiring articles and links every month. There is a Mr. Linky to add your own kit and projects. I hope to see you there.

I love that you've included the blank tag for her to fill in - that's a lovely idea. And I love your flower cluster - the ribbon works so well with the flowers and who (see what I did there ...) can resist a sweet owl (esp when he was such a bargain!)

Love how the papers came back

Brilliant idea for the letter part - I think we sometimes forget that the journalling can be someone else's words, not just our own perspective. Super page - your daughter (and grandson) will love it!
