Starting Over

I decided to try posting my layouts here again., I have only been posting in FB groups.
This month I decided to join in with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and make a kit from my stash. Their inspiration kit was the October 2018 Citrus Twist kit.
I chose a paper to represent each side of the papers that came with the kit., except for the black word paper and the woodgrain paper. I chose some black and white patterned scraps and some woodgrain scraps to use in place of the full sheets.

I chose die cuts, large words, some puffy stickers and wood veneer because those were all include in the inspiration kit. There is plenty here to keep me busy for lots of layouts.

Instead of choosing one alphabet, I chose eight well used alphabets in hopes that I can get them used up a little more. That's the great thing about making my own kit. I can do it my way. I hate that kit clubs only give you one alphabet. I like variety. I also included some floss so that I can stitch on layouts or try to make those cute thread bows.

I will be posting my layouts as I make them.

Jen: you've pulled together a terrific copy cat kit for this month! I do see reflections of the inspirational Citrus Twist curated kit in yours! How exciting!! Can't wait to see what you make!!!

They have so many fun layouts on their blog and I found this layout by Julie Bonner and thought it was great. For my layout I switched the hearts for shamrocks. I had this adorable picture of my grandson from St. Paddy's Day and I was happy to find a cute layout idea. I used my Cricut to cut the shamrocks with the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. I used a touch of adhesive on the top of each shamrock to hold it in place while I was sewing but none near the center because I didn't want the needle to be sticky. Counterfeit Kit Blog Hop/ Bird is the Word-Wish

Welcome to this stop of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog's October blog hop. This month our blog hop challenge was to alter stickers and use them in a different way. Here is my layout. This picture is just a silly shot of my 20 year old daughter sitting in my grandson's stroller. She asked me to push her around when we were out. I love that she is not embarrassed to act silly. I only pushed her across the parking lot, but it was a fun minute.  I didn't have stickers in my kit this month so I added the puffy heart stickers and the cardstock hearts and circles. I used the cardstock circles and backed them with patterned paper. I then tore around the circles and layered the circles to make a basic flower. I punched holes into the puffy heart and used it as a button for the center of the flower.  I use more of the hearts in the same way. June Counterfeit Kit

I was so excited to see the inspiration kit for June at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog. Burlap and Butterflies put together the great kit in this picture. I really liked all of the pink, orange, blue and green in the original kit so I tried to stick with that. As my main paper and color reference I chose an old sheet of BG that I have had for years. I love the elephants and the colors were just right. I ended up with fifteen patterned papers. My embellishments... What can I say, I went overboard. I couldn't help it. I have all of these great Sassafras goodies from my mystery box so I needed to add some to my kit. I have a few things in here from last month, and a few things that I have had for a long time. I have some buttons, ribbon, and bling mixed in with some tab stickers, chipboard, and journal spots. I made the summer add on and I managed to only use four papers!
