Starting Over

Image
Hi. Thanks for visiting. I decided to try posting my layouts here again., I have only been posting in FB groups. This month I decided to join in with the Counterfeit Kit Challenge Blog and make a kit from my stash. Their inspiration kit was the October 2018 Citrus Twist kit. I chose a paper to represent each side of the papers that came with the kit., except for the black word paper and the woodgrain paper. I chose some black and white patterned scraps and some woodgrain scraps to use in place of the full sheets. I chose die cuts, large words, some puffy stickers and wood veneer because those were all include in the inspiration kit. There is plenty here to keep me busy for lots of layouts. Instead of choosing one alphabet, I chose eight well used alphabets in hopes that I can get them used up a little more. That's the great thing about making my own kit. I can do it my way. I hate that kit clubs only give you one alphabet. I like variety. I also included some fl...

March Studio Calico Kit Layouts

Image
I am so excited to share what I got done with the March Studio Calico Kit. I decided in January that I will try to use some old supplies along with my kits. I didn't manage to use old supplies on every layout but I did work some really old stuff in there. We don't normally get much snow in South Jersey but this has been a lucky year for us. I have tons of great snow pictures this year. We were blessed with a new nephew in January. I had that frame and vellum sticker forever. I am glad they never made it to the trash bin because I like how they look with the black heart paper. Prom 2009. I didn't add anything old to this layout. The Heidi Swapp words were on clearance at M's. My birthday. Remember those old MM definition stickers? They have to be ten years old. Another snow pic. I love this one. The whites are the same in person. This little cutie did not want to be serious. Taking these pictures is how I found out that my camera has a bac...

December Daily

Image
This is not my first year trying to do a December Daily. I have decided that this year I will finish my DD no matter what. I have divided page protectors and I pre-cut a lot of papers to the sizes I will need so it should be a fairly easy process. These are the fun supplies I pulled. I am using a lot of wood, gold, and confetti along with the regular cards and sticker embellishments. The album I am using is an 8x8 divided page album from Stampin' Up. The green and white cover is perfect for Christmas. I think I am going to add the year in that wood frame in the above picture and glue it to the front of the album with some flowers that are in my stash. These are some of the papers I will be using. I am going to add vellum, transparencies, and burlap for interest and texture. Here are some of the pictures I will be adding. Our Elf on the Shelf is named Orange and he will be included each day. Here are some of his antics. And, this little cutie...

It's been a while

Image
I am glad to be back to posting and scrapbooking. I haven't been on here in over a year to post anything. I have signed up for the Studio Calico scrapbook kit and have really been getting a lot of scrapbooking done with the kits. Here are a few pages I did in the last few months. ^^This was Universal Studios. We have been to WDW six of the last eight years, but this was our first trip to Universal. I found it to be quite a bit like Hollywood Studios. I loved this little storefront that was shaped like a camera. Ben doesn't know who Woody Woodpecker is but he was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. I was the only person with Ben or these would be pictures of me and Woody :) My husband hanging around on the swingset with our grandson. We are so lucky that our daughter and grandson live with us so that we can enjoy the little moments. One night while we were camping we went to an ice cream parlor. While we were there we saw these lights from a plane in the s...

Whoot Whoot!

I finally got some scrapbooking time. I went to a two day crop near my house this weekend and I actually got something done. Pictures coming soon.

Getting ready for Sandy

We are spending the day getting ready for Sandy.   This is supposed to be a bad storm for a lot of people and right now they are predicting a mess in South Jersey. So far we are not planning to evacuate. Currently the mandatory evacuation line has been drawn one block from our house. I imagine this could change at any point and we do have a place to go if needed.   We have food and water. Our neighbors have a generator so we can recharge in case the power is out for an extended time. We have games and toys aplenty. If the power stays on I may be able to get some scrapbooking done. That would be a nice change.   Cassie has to work. The hospital will of course remain open and the patients will want to eat. So hopefully if the weather is too bad they will have a bed to offer her and she can sleep without coming home. Last time we had a bad storm there were a lot of people sleeping at the hospital and working extra shifts to make up for the people who could not m...
